March 2016 Highlights

By the Numbers


Instructional sessions were taught by Faculty and Graduate Student Services  


Individuals were served by Special Collections faculty’s instructional and community engagement efforts


Linear feet of collections were processed by Special Collections


Meetings/Events hosted by Building Services with 108 after hours and on weekends


Documents were delivered from K-State’s collection through Interlibrary Services


Questions from students, faculty, staff and the public were answered by Hale Library Help student employees, staff and librarians


Items lent by Interlibrary Services to aid researchers at other colleges and universities


Items were borrowed by Interlibrary Services from other libraries to aid K-State faculty and students in their courses and research


Users accessed New Prairie Press


Items were checked out, returned, or renewed at all of the K-State Libraries’ Manhattan campus libraries (Hale plus all branches, including the Veterinary Medical Library


Users accessed K-REx


Individuals came into Hale Library in through the 2nd floor public entrance gates


Selected Accomplishments 

Tara Marintzer and Sarah Hoyt curated, designed and installed “Your Professor Wrote This,” an exhibit of books written by K-State faculty and published by university presses for display by Hale Library’s main gate.

Roger Adams, Cliff Hight and Kathe Garbrick worked with Metadata, Preservation & Digitization staff to develop workflow processes for transfer of Special Collections/University Archives materials to the Annex.

Rachel Miles designed the cover of a new textbook now available at, Workplace Writing:A Handbook for Common Workplace Genres and Professional Writing; an OA textbook by Goins, et al. 

Erica Foster, Asha Muthukrishnan, and Sue Pray were recognized as 2015 Diversity Superstars for their engagement in campus and community diversity related activities.  They each received a superstar lapel pin and were honored at a reception.
